Lush Resort, Possum Kingdom Lake

The best way to describe Lush Resort is a slice of paradise in an unexpected place. Since moving to Texas I have always heard good things about Possum Kingdom Lake. When we had looked into visiting we had only seen options to camp, but Lush Resort has it all. You can stay at their hotel or RV park. As soon as we drove up we were greeted by the bright colors, and fun/unique buildings. We knew the weekend was going to be the perfect mix of fun and relaxation!

5 Reasons Why you Need to Visit Lush Resort:

1.) There is so much to do!

From lounging in the sun, to hiking, to kayaking, to swimming in one of the their three pools, or even bring a boat to enjoy a variety of other lake activities. Don’t have a boat? No problem, you can rent one or schedule a cruise with the resort! We didn’t get the opportunity to take full advantage of all the activities, but next time we plan to enjoy fishing, visiting the Graham Drive in Theater, or canoeing down the Brazos River. We ran out of time, but it’s the perfect reason to go back to enjoy more of what the area has to offer!

2.) Lush is Perfect for Couples or Families

It was the perfect getaway for Caleb and I, peaceful and romantic. I loved being able to walk out on our patio to a view of the lake each morning. However, throughout our visit I couldn’t help but think how great it would be to come back with kids at some point or even on an annual family vacation. The pools, sandy beach, and lakeside activities are 100% family friendly, but you can just as easily lounge by the pool with a cold beverage kidless and have an amazing time.

3.) The Food!

We went on this trip thinking we would eat at Lush Bar and Grill at the resort as well as other places in the area. We ended up having almost every meal at Lush Bar and Grill because their food was AMAZING! Honestly, the food was one of the best parts of the trip. We had Eggs Benedict both days for breakfast and a variety of lunches and dinners. Every single meal we had was delicious! Expert tip: If you’re a resort guest, preorder a steak dinner with chocolate cake for dessert…..you won’t regret it.

4.) The Rooms

They have a variety of places to stay including: Posh Lakefront Suites, Bungalows, Hotel Rooms, and RV sites. We stayed in the Posh Lakefront Suites, which had a gorgeous lakeview, full kitchen, patio, and king size bed. It was perfect for a romantic getaway. The Bungalows also looked very unique and would be a more spacious option for a larger group of up to 6 guests.

5.) Peaceful or Busy?

There are two types of people on vacation, those who want to relax and those who want to stay busy to get the full experience. Lush lets you be both types of traveler. If you visit Lush you need to stay for the weekend so you can experience both. We were able to soak up so much of what there was to do, but also enjoyed the best afternoon naps with views of the lake from the bed.

We had the best weekend, and can’t wait to go back soon! We are already planning our next visit. If you aren’t you should be!

XOXO,
